PCHS Advisory Council
Community Advisory Council
The valuable role of our Community Advisory Council (CAC) in developing, reviewing, and monitoring the progress to achieve the goals of the 5-Year Plan guarantees full participatory involvement in addressing grassroots barriers in the community. Stories and experiences are valued to identify the overarching challenges within the American Samoa system. Representatives from agencies share common concerns about qualified personnel, leadership, and resources. When necessary, the CAC may propose recommendations to the State Director for revisions.
Membership requirements of the CAC are mandated to be comprised of 51% representation of individuals with developmental disabilities and family members, Office of Protection and Advocacy for the Disabled (OPAD), Developmental Disabilities Planning Council (DDPC), self-advocacy organization, and parent information organization.
