PACIFIC Way
PACIFIC Way is community service, training, and technical assistance. The coined term establishes a foundation to ensure activities are delivered in a culturally competent manner.
The term PACIFIC Way is a phrase coined by Fijian statesman Ratu Sir Kamisese Mara of “people of different races, opinions and cultures can live and work together for the good of all, can differ without rancor, govern without malice, and accept responsibility as reasonable people intent on serving the interest of all.”
Community Service Training
PCHS faculty/staff training will enhance the knowledge of various community members (individuals with developmental and other disabilities, their families, professionals, paraprofessionals, policy-makers, students, or others in the community).
Technical Assitance
Problems-solving services to assist programs, agencies, or other entities in improving their outcomes, services, management, and/or policies. Technical assistance may include self-advocacy organizations, family support groups, and other organizations. Activities may include but are not limited to:
Enhanced resources
Enhance services
Strengthened networking of public and private entities across communities
Increased awareness of evidence-based practices
Enhance capacity to assess current practices about evidence-based approaches.
